"how much above a standard markup can add onto the price of an item" is just what the price of an item should be + the extra cash that we are willling to pay for it. this is just the price of an item, is it not? if so, you just stated that need/want can indeed control the price of an item.

also a high price tag is like a repellent to me, it definitely does not generate any kind of want or need for that item. it makes me want to find a cheaper item that completes the same task.

lastly, this high demand that you just stated is just another name for a need or want for an item, which does cause an increase in price, so i'm not sure what you're trying to say with that last sentence.

PS - DIY FTW

bahahahaha diy crust punk. go buy shit at walmart thats super diy of you.

so, a lot of people have been asking about these, and instead of clogging up the bruiser thread i figured i'd make a new one since it's not really a secret anymore.

i talked to jeremiah yesterday. he said he's going to be sewing up a preliminary batch to bring out to peel this week for sale. so if you're in the new york area and want some, head over there this thursday. he said they'll be in the 40-50 range, no definitive price yet. i told him there's a lot of interest on this forum, and although he said the online sales and website stuff won't be up for another month or so, he would probably be willing to work something out for the straps he doesn't sell in person. later this week there should be some real product shots and tech info and hopefully limited availability on some straps, with contact info and all.

i guess try to keep all questions about them in this thread, i'll put up any info i get on them, also check prolly's blog as i'm sure he'll release all the official drop info as it comes out.

here they are on john's new bruiser

This is a very fine bike. It's a stupid question but ive always wondered how much does a well built trick fixed wieghts

I understand that you want a reference point but well built is kinda subjective. Maybe elaborate on what "well" means, i.e. phi hubs, db/straight gauge etc....

just so everyone knows, i talked to jeremiah tonight, he said some of the things needed to make a batch of straps were back ordered or something, so the first limited run should be available in another week about. there will be online sales in about a month i guess, but keep watch here for updates on this first run and availability, pictures soonnn.

If you think that $50 is too much. DON'T BUY THEM. It's that simple. Everyone wants shit on a shoestring budget. Hand-made in Brooklyn NY and you'll NEVER need to buy toe clips again!

unless these are made out of some kinda super strong pedal scrape proof material, wont they rip on the sides eventually?

hahahaaaa! You kids are fucking knarly. Ha.

As for everyone complaining about the price, well, what John said is correct, and i really don't understand how people think that complaining on the forums is going to change something. Its like some of you use the forums as a tool to get discounts and rank prices. This sport is super younge and the only way that it will last, is if we support those that are trying to make products that work. The price that Hold Fast straps will be based around, most likely wont be that outrageous...

read the rest of this thread homie. Idk about you but most people on here work hard work for their shit or beg mommy and dayy for them. If someone is getting free shit its prolly cause they rep an establishment that feels that they have earned their keep. Maybe you jus gotta put in work (a 9-5, chores at home for mommy or your sugar mommy)

That said, after running Mosher style DIY powergrips I can't wait to get some of these. I really want to see some detail shots too.
