More information and planning needs to happen here. I would very much like to see this happen. A Midwest Trick Comp is a great idea because separately, our cities don't hold enough riders to do it, but collectively, we could get alot of people to come out, get gnar, and have a good time. I would love to do a screening for The Revival as well. If this is gonna be held in another city I cant plan alone. I will help get sponsors and talk to Tom B about getting a copy of The Revival, but other than that I need people for there cities to get a venue, spread word, and a location for comp.

So everyone who is serious about this lets start locking in on some info. First off, where are we holding this? Chi? or Milwaukee?

I vote we make a weekend of it!
Milwaukee is obviously my preferred location. Riding here is awesome, better than Chicago (not as busy) and Madison in my opinion. And I'd be more than willing to scout cool spots and shit like that leading up to the event. I've got some pretty good ideas already. I suppose I could make chicago work easily though too.
Anybody got a good HD camera?

It would be nice to have a little time to be able to build up my Leader so I can jam out with you dudes to the fullest extent, but it is getting colder.

Mike, you should fucking come!!

Wow! I'm excited! I'm getting all swear-y and shit!

i know if we held it in milwaukee we could always hold it indoors. Also we could do it with a screening of the revival, and in brew city there is always a place to have an after party. Ive contacted skitch about having a premier and its got to be in late december or early january.

from what josh told me, renting a warehouse for a weekend is cheap-to-free. It'd be sick to have the screening and comp in the same place. Since he's already working on getting the premier here, I'm gonna vote milwaukee.
I feel like COG,MKE, 1/8 inch and Bens would be more involved if held here.

I'm from Chicago, but this was exactly my thought process. I'd be more inclined to have something here in the summer months. Chicago in the summer is incomparable.

Josh and Anothony: I like where this is going. Very Happy

Okay, Josh, you said you've contacted Skitch. Late December or Early January sounds great. Plenty of enough time to to plan and spread the word and what not. I love the idea of renting a warehouse and having the screening and comp there. I dead seriously will pitch in for the warehouse and costs if necessary for a projector. I AM THAT SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.

It being in a warehouse is gonna be great too. Why you say? Cause were gonna be building some crazy shit to ride! Im thinking manny pad, kicker and a quarterpipe. Ill bring building materials if said warehouse does not supply.

Having this in Milwaukee only makes sense because we could get so much support from Bens/MKE, Cog, and 1/8 inch and the like. Plus, so many people involved in The Revival, are supported by Bens/MKE. So I know they love to see it.

I want all the Midwest kids coming too. Everyone from Ohio, Charles and Kevin and whatnot. If theres only a few of you, you guys probably could hitch a ride with me. I have a huge van. Oh, and Travis, you definitely need to come. I know its far from MO, but you definitely need to make it out.

Building crazy ramps is exactly what we were thinking. I was thinking all of those things but with a sketch pallet wallride, sketch pallet pyramid, sketch pallet EVERYTHING!

I don't think costs are going to be much of an issue if we have said companys on as sponsers. But I'm down to pitch in as I'm sure more people are down to.

root beer kegs and maybe get a food sponsor?! I know I'm thinking way ahead with that but would be soo sick if we got sprecher and some food place to get involved!

as far as premier materials, we might have that covered to. We have a pretty good bike fed that has the citys projection equipment, so nice!

My roomate actually owns a projector. picked it up for free when his college was updating their a/v equipment. so i could probably borrow that for the screening.

Well hell yea! Looks like we got a projector then. That would be sick to get some food and drinks hooked up. Start askin around town and see who could help! If there's any places that are into bikes and bike friendly thats a great first place to start.

But yea, I dont know what else I can do. Lets try and get a date set in stone. That way it will feel more real and like its actually gonna happen. Josh, talk to Tom and find out when we can do the screening. Rest of the Milwaukee guys, find out where a warehouse is that we can use.

Once we get a Date and Location and Sponsors ready, Im gonna design a flyer for it. A separate flyer from the Revival screening flyer, a flyer for the Trick Comp. What else should we do though? Footdown? Bunnyhop Contest? Sprints?

Yo Shea, I can't believe I didn't think of carpooling. Duh! If we did that, this is definitely possible for me. I'd be for sure down to drive up to Detroit to meet up with you dudes and pitch in for gas money to make this happen.

Also, I'd be way down to see some ramps made! All flatground wouldn't be all that fun. A quarter, a couple kickers, a bank to wall, and a ledge/manual pad type thing would be plenty, and pretty easy to build. I can definitely help building anything that needs to be built... I've made my fair share of ramps!

PM incoming...
