Yikes! Spent a lotta $... going to use my old Velocity Deep V x Grand Compe Wheelset until I can afford some Chukkers. Also using my current Animal Hamilton Pedals and Holdfast Straps

Any recommendations on good tires for my rims/new bike?

VITTORIA Randonneur Hyper 700x35 actuall the 700x38 should fit but not sure if you can slam the rear with it. the 35 you can and it is a wide 35

You can slam the wheel fine with those.

The 35 vittoria hypers you can slam but the 38's (which are on a 40c casing) I have to run about halfway back in the dropouts or it rubs on the seat tube. Great tires though

I'm on my second bruiser and it seems to have different clearance in the back. The same wheel and tire, a chukker and 40c rando, fit with room to spare on my first frame but on my new frame the wheel must be true to not rub on the stays. Both frames are larges only difference one was a pre-order (not a proto) and the latest came from a recent batch. Is this just a result of Taiwanese factory builds or something else...

I don't know about Sam, but I wore down my non drive chain stay from doing pegless grinds to the point where it cracked from lateral stress. Hence why I now use a peg. Witch doesn't fall under the warranty, nor should it.

But Drew at MKE really helped me out and got me riding again when it looked like I was going to be out of a bike for a long time, and I still would be today if he hadn't been so generous.

I didn't post anything here about it because A. I didn't feel it needed to be, and B. The situation was handled so well, why put any doubt in anyones mind about these bikes. They're big, brutal, and the best I've ridden thus far.

fair enough. I wasn't trying to start anything I just hadn't heard that anyone had actually broken one yet.

I wouldn't say I actually broke it, nothing failed, you slide on any frame long enough and its going to crack.

But that is my argument for running a peg, I'm not on a company, nor can I afford a new frame every 5 or 6 months, and Im left footed, so unless I run LHD intentionally for chainring slides I'm pegged.

I have a similar situation to lifetime, my frame developed cracks on the bottom of both chainstays and the seat tube at the clamp cut-out. I don't think it was from excessive grinding but regardless, I called ben's and talked to Steve. Without seeing a picture or anything they offered to send ups to pick it up, I was going to be in MKE soon anyways so I just brought it in. They checked it out, took my number, and in a couple of hours they gave me a rang. When I got back to the shop all my components had been swapped to a new frame and they were cleaning my wheels.

I couldn't have asked for anything more from them especially because my original bruiser was a prize from a race. The only real issue I have is with the difference in clearances, but after two free frames...I'll deal.

Well it's by a first come first serve basis, so once the people before you get theirs, it takes them like a week+ to powder coat it, then a week for shipping. MBC will send you a tracking email when they sent it out.
